Mr. Schuck's Language Arts Class
Assessment
At the conclusion of the unit, students will be able to:
-
Write a story based on a real-life event that uses a first-person narrator other than the student in order to demonstrate understanding of point of view.
-
Complete charts that demonstrate an understanding of the concepts of voice and plot.
-
Write and broadcast a news story that includes the main idea and details of the story Death in The Woods.
-
Write short essays that explain aspects of storytelling, making inferences, point of view, and the kinds of questions news stories should include.
These formative and summative assessments will indicate progress and achievement of the objectives. A final summative assessment will measure students' mastery of the unit content and indicate any needs for re-teaching.
